The Three Fires Facebook page will be serving as the primary source of information on events and information for the District.

Legacy Three Fires information will remain on this site for a few months, however it will not be updated.

Other sources of local Scouting information are:

www.bsaswmc.org -- Southern Shores FSC website. The site includes information on upcoming council and district events.

http://calendar.gstcbsa.org -- Calendar & Event Registration. Council and District events will be posted to the calendar.

www.bsaswmc.org -- eConnect email newsletter. The newsletter is sent out every 2 weeks and include information on COuncial and District activities. Sign up on the Southern Shores website.

The new Michigan Crossroads Council website is in development and it is expected by the end of the year that the Council website will migrate to that site.

 
What Courses Do I Need To Take To Be Trained For My Position? PDF Print E-mail

ScoutersandScoutsCub Scout Leaders: YPT* and the Cub Scout Leader Specific training* for your position.

Scoutmasters and ASM: YPT*, Fast Start*, This is Scouting*, Scoutmaster and ASM Leader Specific Training, and Introduction to Outdoor Leader Skills.

Troop Committee Members: YPT* and Troop Committee Challenge*.

Varsity Coaches and Assistant Coaches: YPT*and Varsity Leader Specific Training.

Venturing Crew Advisors, Assistant Advisors and Committee Members: YPT* and Venturing Leader Specific Training.

Charter Organization Representatives: YPT* and Charter Organization Representative Training.

Merit Badge Counselor: YPT* and merit badge counselor training.

All positions: Fast Start* and  This is Scouting* are no longer required, but highly recommended.

YPT = Youth Protection Training

Online Course Information

To take online courses, except Youth Protection Training (YPT), you will need your BSA registration number from your membership card. If you cannot locate your card call the Council office at 734-971-7100 and they can help you. Once you have your number, go to www.myscouting.org, create your account and take the courses you need.

Youth Protection Training (YPT)

If you are registering as an adult volunteer, you are required to take the Youth Protection Training (YPT). The training is available online at www.myscouting.org. You will need to set up an account on the site, however you will not be required to enter a BSA member ID for the YTP class. YPT must be completed every two years to remain current.

Round Table Fellowship PDF Print E-mail

Attend Round TableJoin us on the 2nd Thursday of each month for a great Scouting Experience. This is your opportunity to join is discussion with volunteers just like yourself to gain feedback and learning from others experiences. Roundtable creates an atmosphere of sharing and learning from others in an effort to give you the greatest resource of all, other volunteers.

Roundtable is also a great resource for district and council information. Flyers, demonstrations, informational feedback and much, much more are included in each months session.

2nd Thursday of each month! Howell LDS Church 7pm located at 1041 W. Grand River in Howell.
