General Questions
What is this event?
This is a HUGE event that the the Great Sauk Trail Council puts on once every 3 or 4 years.
It has been compared to a Mini-Jamboree.
There is HUGE amount of planning involved in putting on an event of this size.
Most Councils have an annual Camporee, but we opt for a larger one every few years.
And it turns into more of a mini-jambo.
This event always draws a huge crowd, not just from the Great Sauk Trail Council, but allows the surrounding Councils, including Scouts Canada.

Where is it?
Michigan International Speedway, yes MIS near Brooklyn Michigan.

there is enough money to cover the pre-registration fee.

Detroit Area Council (DAC), Erie Shores Council, Gerald R. Ford Council, Hiawathaland Council, Lake Huron Area Council,
Muskingum Valley Council, Scenic Trails Council, Scouts Canada, Southwest Michigan Council, & Tall Pines Council.
This seems like a well planned out event, where did you get your ideas?
We have some of our staff from some of the best camporees in the area, such as Dorchester in Canada and Michigan International Camporee in Chief Okemos Council.
And a lot of our staff have helped with the last few National Jamboree's.
This together with attending many other camporees, allowed us to come together with some great ideas and planning.
First we took the time to really study the host location and build a good solid program on top of it.
We have spent many hours searching the web for exhibits and Demonstrations that will help expand ones vision of racing.
A lot of the ideas have come from the first few exhibitors that we hooked up withthe camporee.
These opened new doors in the community.
Plus, our new Council President works in motorsports right along side with Michigan International Speedway.
So don't forget we still have many months left to add new ideas to the existing, so you too can be part of this great event.
Cub Family Camping Questions
What is Cub Family Camping?
Cub Family Camping is a family of a Cub Scout camping out for one or two nights as a family unit.
Each Family will register individually and camp as a individual unit. Responsible for their sleeping and eating arrangements.
Are you having Cub Pack Camping?
No, We are only allowing Cub Family Camping. The Rules and Regulations are different for Pack Camping.
Can Boy scout families camp at the event?
No, we are only doing this for Cub Scout Families.
Is the Cub Family Camp going to be near the Camporee?
Yes, but there will be a dividing line and Security to keep the areas separate.
Is there a additional charge for Cub Family Camping?
Yes, but it is small, since it will help cover the extra activities that will be available to those that choose to stay overnight.
All the prices are available in the information packet.
Can some of the family come out early and setup and the one that has to work later come and join them at that point?
Yes, but we would prefer everyone arrives together.
Everyone, including the one that comes out late must go through registration to get acquainted with rules and to get the proper wristband for being at the speedway.
The issue is not about parking space, but more about making registration check-in easier.
How do we indicate on the pre- registration form that two or more Cub Families want to camp together from the same pack?
By pre-registering early your family will be assigned to a better campsite.
After the Pre-Registration Closes on Septemeber 21st, the Camp Chief Staff will start assigning Campsites.
They will group all Cub Families from the same pack & town together.
Note 1: Please make sure your Pack's Town is on the pre-registration form as there are same the pack numbers in other towns.
Note 2: Families camping in Motor Homes will be separated from the Tenting Areas.
We HOPE to camp motor homes adjancent to the tenting area, but cannot guarantee that at this point, since we have no idea of how many are going to pre-register.
As for Cub Families that arrive on the day of the event.
They will be assigned First Come, First Served.
We will assign the sites as they arrive.
If there is a open site near the rest of the Cub Families from the same pack will assign them there, but cannot promise anything.
This is a large Camporee and planning ahead is the only way we can make this a Great Camporee, so please pre-register early to help us all out.
